Showing what PCOS actually looks like

When I was diagnosed with PCOS, naturally, I looked to social media for someone who showed what their day to day looked like living with PCOS. Unfortunately, I only found info graphics, and people who gave advice on PCOS who didn't actually have PCOS. Now,  I share my experience, so if someone else is diagnosed, and needs someone to turn to I am here! Some days bring more struggles than others and that is ok.

Lifting weights can be more effective than tons of cardio. Cardio can trigger stress when you have PCOS, so it is important to remember to give yourself breaks while working out. Sometimes, taking a break while in the gym can seem counterintuitive because you go to the gym to push yourself, but making sure you keep a steady pace helps manage stress hormones.

My Favorite Tips For Managing Stress

Take time to do nothing! I always feel like I should be productive in some way when I am at home. There are always closets to clean, laundry to do,  and dishes to wash, but it is important to take time to watch your favorite movie while you cuddle up on the couch with a cozy blanket. It can be hard not to feel guilty, but let it go. The chores will be there after you watch your movie.

My Favorite Tips For Managing Stress

Getting quality sleep is the best thing you can do to manage stress. Practicing good sleep hygiene has helped so much. I have created a routine to help signal it is time for bed. The biggest thing that has helped me sleep better is not getting in bed too early. I am guilty of laying in bed for hours looking at tiktoks, instagram posts, and pinterst pins. My biggest tip is stay off your phone!
